Male infertility

Infertility is defined by the impossibility for a couple to conceive a child after a year or more of regular, unprotected  attempts ( 2 to 3 times a week ).

In most cases this infertility is linked to the quality of the sperm.

Several factors affect the quality and quantity of sperm by inducing the production of non-viable sperm or anatomical abnormalities that lead to male infertility.

Hormonal disturbances
Certain congenital diseases
Pituitary tumor
General disease (eg diabetes)

Poor diet
Tobacco and energy drinks
Pesticides
Radiations

Clothes that are too tight

  • Oligozoospermia: sperm concentration below 15 million/ml
  • Polyzoospermia: sperm concentration greater than 250 million/ml
  • Azoospermia is the medical condition of a man whose semen contains no sperm.
  • Cryptozoospermia is a sperm disorder that leads to male infertility and is characterized by the presence of very few sperm in the ejaculate.
  • Asthenozoospermia is a condition where the sperms have reduced motility (movement) compared to healthy ones.
